Your Guide to Christmas in the Branch 2022

Christmas in the Branch is back in Farmers Branch! Starting on November 25, we’ll be hosting a variety of family-friendly events and activities during the holidays. From exploring Santa’s Village, shopping for gifts at the Holiday Marketplace, to Ice Skating Under the Stars at the Children's Health StarCenter, and more, there's something for everyone at Christmas in the Branch.

Skating Under the Stars, Nov. 25

Head to the Farmers Branch Children's Health StarCenter for outdoor ice skating all season long. Farmers Branch residents who provide proof of residency will receive free entry every Sunday during the holiday season.



Christmas Tree Lighting + Drone Show, Dec. 3

Join us on December 3, as we welcome in the yuletide with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at The Grove at Mustang Station. See Santa Claus light the tree, and catch the NEW holiday drone show and outdoor ice skating. Be sure to visit Santa from 5-9 pm.




  • Don’t miss the free live music on the Main Stage from Ruby Weston, a classically trained vocalist. Following her performance will be The Ones, a six-piece band singing popular holiday tunes. And at Liberty Plaza, enjoy performances from our local schools and dance studios.

  • Take the little ones to the Kids Zone in Liberty Plaza filled with carnival rides, face painters, balloon artists and strolling characters.

  • Local vendors will also be around featuring unique handmade and homemade gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at The Grove.

Come hungry as we’ll have a tasty lineup of local concessions serving up sweet and savory food. This year’s vendors include Nuevo Leon Mex-Mex Restaurant, JBW Vending, Dallas Grilled Cheese Company, Ned’s Mama Cafe, Sweets Donut Snob, Taylor’s Sweets and Krunchies & Travelin Tom's Coffee.


​Concluding the night will be a Drone Show at 8:45 pm and fireworks show at 8:55 pm!


Admission is free for everyone. Enjoy the festivities with your friends and family as we continue the holiday celebrations.


*Traffic Note: Denton Drive will be closed from 1 pm -11 pm on December 3.

December 2: Feliz Navidog

Bring your pups to this furr-tastic, doggy-friendly holiday celebration filled with food, vendors and plenty of photo ops!


December 3 and 17: Santa and Friends on the Move

Farmers Branch City staff will be transporting Santa and friends on a special sleigh around neighborhoods in Farmers Branch! Stay tuned for the route.

December 3, 10, 17: Christmas Tea

Gather your friends for a splendid time at the Historical Park’s holiday exhibit, A Celebration of Christmas: Traditions Around the World. Explore the rich holiday traditions from across the globe as we honor different countries and cultures over hot tea and sweets. Guests will tour several historical structures and learn how the holiday season has been celebrated throughout the years.


December 3, 9, 10, 16, 17: Christmas Exhibit Tours

Every year, the Farmers Branch Historical Park grounds are decorated with Christmas decor either from a book or a historical period. The tours are either daytime tours or evening, lantern-led tours.


December 7: Santa & Cookies

'Tis the season for the Library’s annual Santa & Cookies! Arrive early to listen to a special guest read the enchanting story, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas, munch on some delicious cookies while you make a holiday craft, and of course, meet the famous Cowboy Santa!


December 10: Pancakes and Pajamas

Come join us for a morning full of holiday cheer! The Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center will serve a hot breakfast with delicious pancakes, bacon and sausage paired with your choice of Starbucks fresh hot coffee, milk or orange juice. Santa will be present for photos and visits while Mrs. Claus will be reading Christmas stories. Fun crafts will also be available for kiddos and families to enjoy.




December 10: Holiday Marketplace at The Grove

Browse handmade and homemade gifts from local vendors at our Holiday Marketplace at The Grove. Check out concessions from your favorite Farmers Branch vendors, plus enjoy outdoor ice skating, fun activities for children and visits with Santa Claus. See an exciting performance by award-winning artist, Kraig Parker in “It's an Elvis Christmas!”


December 17: Holiday Marketplace at The Grove

Join us as we celebrate the tastes, tunes and traditions of the Latino culture. Catch free live performances from Vivian Field Folklorico Dance Group, Lara Latin and Las Fenix. The fun continues with outdoor ice skating, children’s activities and visits with Santa Claus. Get your last-minute gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at The Grove.

November 25 - January 5: Skating Under the Stars

November 11 – December 9: Letters to Santa

The Farmers Branch Aquatics Center has made arrangements with the North Pole elves to accept mail for delivery to Santa. Have your kids write a letter to Santa Claus, and they will get a letter from him in return!


December 12 – 24: Santa Makes House Calls

Santa will visit your home to deliver gifts to your children (gifts provided in advance by parents). Check out the link for more details.

Please remember, only service animals are allowed onto festival grounds with the exception of our Feliz Navidog event on December 3 at the Barneywoood Dog Park.
